4ever young uses the summer pop sound of the 80s and 90s to deal with the body images and clichés of recent decades. Gender roles are changing, the sexualized body remains and our own bodies age in the meantime. HARTMANNMUELLER use their bodies as a clothes rail for swimwear and open-air bathing accessories. 4ever young is a celebration of the diversity and beauty of human bodies in general, shedding light on how social norms and ideas have influenced our perception and what has remained in our collective memory.
Simon Hartmann and Daniel Ernesto Mueller tackle sensitive topics such as body shaming, self-acceptance and identity. Through their presentation and installation, they deliberately break with traditional notions of physicality and focus on a variety of poses and arrangements.
A production by HARTMANNMUELLER in collaboration with the Impulse Theater Festival. Funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of NRW.
